Inspired by a notation in my diary
a casual observation, placing me back
at the beginning of my experience
convention’s pretense disintegrating
cumbrous, confused, restoring me
to self, a primal starting out again:
obedience to the simplest theorem
preserves the order of the universe
all from the number 1 we deduce
as the triangle and square lead us
to the polyhedron, allowing new
disciplined liberties of polynomials
links and knots, seeming amorphous
shapes as clouds moving through
our view, foils to green treetops leafy
outreach, fractals in search of light.
