What we love, too often vanishes
evades us in shadow, worries of it
warring, disengaging time from
its march into intervals, decimal
expansions between integers of
happy moments, yet our mind
proposes a strategy to save us
to preserve the beauty of our desire
placing in our center that legendary
longing, secure in our Camelot
a heart of virtue in visionary setting
with fields of yellow, lavender irises
blooming, spread out before that
enchanted citadel glistening, signaling
us in dreams of warm embrace
harmonious sympathies, a place
that gives us faith to journey on
believing in a joyous reunion with
those that wait, their love, eternally true.
