…humble, disqualified from sitting
in the highest seats, destiny’s
ambiguous reward, born in tribulation
my memory stored behind a veil
to leave me in ignorance, often guided
by innocent competing lies
turbulence of instinct, exigencies to survive
truth reserved until I die. Contrite I wander
seldom fitting, naivety of mortality
my heart broken so many times
that pieces are collected in my poems
pasted to diary pages, tears running
some lines, blurred smudges of better to forget…
