Miracles come as we prove our faith
do not dispute if you see not, Thomas
doubted what his brothers had seen.
Hoping to see Paris, my faith was
later realized, sitting in the Bibliothèque
Nationale reading a poet “Couple, adieu
je vais voir l’ombre que tu devins.”
The unseen and seen, in shade merge
as one, money in the bank Les Deux Magots
on Rue Bonaparte, moments of calm
a Montparnasse café, heavy traffic, Champs Elysées
Rosette of Notre Dame, a kaleidoscope
as the world turns, we die, now you see it
now you don’t, colors of the rainbow, dark spaces
of faith, separating spectral lines, specter of
our ignorance, in search of that all seeing eye.
