A big lady getting into a taxi
stuck the door on the sidewalk
she had to step down, a moment
to free it shut, in another transition
day, broken clouds, sun breeze
only nature spoken today, thunder
from the north, threatening to
occupy the Park; 2 hours later
cool undercover, gray mist
invading shade, capping mountains
pale green, while to the east
asymmetrical patches, celestial blue
with cotton like divides floating
soft afternoon setting down.
