I hear women’s voices singing
loves of mine, unseen memories
swinging in my head, calling me
home, the lamp lit in the window
summer wind dragging the orchard
below a cloudless sky, dark empyrean
stars, invisible empire, parallel world
prayer, our only access, from cradle
to succession of houses, linked
posterity in faith of real things
true, metric of their melody, knitting
hearts, point to point along a series
line, love knotting harmony, holding time.
