I shall not all die, Horace declared
“non omnis moriar” echoes clear
in the artist’s mind, part of me will
still live on in mortality, after I have
departed to be reunited with family.
As a universal memory field subset
my example by work, constant valiant
dedicated to service, blessing the lives
of those I come in contact with, projects
left undone or dreams realized, actual
ordering of chaos, tangible evidence
thoughts into action, journals preserving
the journey, testimony in timbre of voice
confirmation of the Spirit, teachings not
extinguished, kindness in nobleness of heart
physical objects shaped, constructed for utility
or ambient décor, in digital prints, chromatic
likeness, simile in song, notes composed
harmonized in new scale, getting to where
I was called, to be poet, be man, created
in divine image, to give voice to a mute world.
