Held captive, doubled, within a space
of imagination, prisoner of my thoughts
to mark my days with chalk, four vertical
one diagonal, inclined left to right
bars that restrain, bend, bent passions
held in order to count, intervals of light
curved time elapsed between meridians
great circles of celestial spheres, enclose
angularly confined to dwell, among my hopes
define emotional slope, degrees to wait
stages of intensity, as illusion swells to fill
my nights, to find me in a distant land
dreams embraced and free to stand.
