Truth must often conform to solitude
as a meadowlark on a leafless branch
apart, in a world that wallows
in mundane gloss gossip, neurotic fixation
or fly alone above the din from its perch
on the lonely limb then feed within wet grass
wary of a predatorís glance
to whistle its melancholy melody of chance.
