The Yigüirro is calling the rain
from higuerones in the wooded grove
melodic cacophony, sharp monotony
humble call, as mass of water vapor
accumulates, moisture in the air, wet
spheres in the atmosphere, humidity
dampens, as all are called to confession
before renewal in baptism, Holy Week begins
sessions of bells chime, as congregations
of parrots speak, in quaking leaves
with animated chattering’s fluttering.
