Scraps and photos, shards stored
against time, years of journal entries
documents, as evidence to account
for some passage in life, sheltered
by loving hands, to batten down sails
as storms have raged, hold steady
to moor in a safe harbor, far from strife
ides of revolving months, scattered
fragments stored, poems, now smudged
scribbling’s, smeared cursive fractured by tides.
