HOW OF TAO

Muggy damp, palms perspiring
warm overcast, no rain, can’t last
clouds anticipate, grow heavier
breeze swallowed in leaves
still air stifles, fills empty atmospheres
swells what appears, being most often
how it happens: kettle drums of thunder
big guns, a distant battlefield, tons of water falling
pound in violence, flash of lightning strikes.
