Your gestures suggest ambivalence
to my proposal, rejection of my intent
as wind causes boughs to brush and scrape
against the ledges of my house, edges
angled against the elements, like propositions
contained in dreary stretches, admiration
embedded in wind swept spaces, reason
that has strayed, wafted away, lost to
the wetted stone that shapes precision
as wayward expressions, movement of art
that breaks a troubled heart.
