Sail on, steady, right the keel
contrary winds complicate
to negotiate treacherous waters
conflicting currents drag, favorable
winds drop, canvass slack, rigging
lax, listless shrouds, stays, spars
limp tackle, useless in doldrums
left to wait, the storm stirs, brewing
in the north, low pressure sucks
draws lives into disturbance, anxiety
before unreasonable force, change
of directions, holding my own
I draw into the still center
chart room of the heavens
lifting my boat above, oceans of
tempest fury, humbly, I kneel in expectation
hope, calm firmament, clears the sky.
