Transient thoughts come briefly
to pass the time of day, breeding
often, treacherous conjectures
elements in a field of variation
strange inference, disturbed
inductions, deduced before going
leaving sediment of abstractions
smeared, sheen of imaginings
fear in farewell, gloss their departing
faded luster, viscous apprehension
in remembrance as rules of order, numbers
sealed in visions, sets bordering madness
addled, lucid moments better kept
to self, sticky wet, in nearer darkness.
