Autumn’s hymn un-leaving
October hums, moment to mind
its golden song in soothing
whispers, weaving a thread
of words, memories from leaves
laying down yellow-red alluvial
of lingering phantom phrases
later whistling out of woodlands
leafless dryad groves, the rustling
crimson gone, blown across
immeasurable spaces, where age
has fled, as aid, to consort with
crowds of familiar shades.
