What an exhausting burden words are
crowded in the brain, seeking tangent
in prophetic vision, seeing other angles
revealing the complex order of things
simple in their voice, they are seldom
overheard, yet laying the conceptual
framework over which life moves
fusing the common in each action
the genetic makeup, our under-song
vibrating the center of our being
nourishing before bread as rhyme in
scansion, alliterating each desire, need
in weighted duty of my calling feared
high in a tower to see, sounding alarm
to this generation or the next.
