Turgid tides, rigid ice flows
defy the equanimity of water
ubiquitous content of our body.
Dead we dry, shrivel, our skin
parchment stretched over bones.
Alive, submerged, we surge
waves break, reprieve, placid
calm, aqueous immersion, we leak
run, pool lagoons, live oceanic
lives, of the agitated face of sea.
