To root from the soul
the last vestiges
of human nature, dark
lingering parasites
foreign enemies that exploit
weakness, perpetuate error
fester, canker, divide
separate, hide until
the moment of your fall.
To cut them out, trample
under foot, stamp away
the stain, cleanse the vessel
overcome the ravages
put off the fallen man
yield, submit willingly
as a child, humble, patient
with love all embracing
no longer walking in darkness
but pierced, open, full of light
brighter than the perfect day.
