He set out until the worn tracks
disappeared, dissolved into brush
a thicket of thorny bush, path now
where no one had passed nor tread
everything seemed clear when
he entered this way, now doubting
resolve, benefit of purpose, to what end
confused, depressed, questions
for competence sake, but he pitched
his tent in the dark, to go on at day break.
