Detained in sin, he sorrows not to change
but desire to wallow, perpetuate his stubbornness
cling to ignorance and vice, seal the terms
of justice, he must abandon hope, ignore
prophetic words, indulge over the slope
let go, roll about, entangled in his weakness
even terror, never learning, weighted down
to sink, sick from his undoing, regret, grief
that finally dawns, as he awakes from error.
