Many squeeze stones
in austere dusty lands
survival spends years
rush of ages overtake
bends shoulders, back
aches, left with dregs
to beg while others roll
their love is cold, lust
constancy’s only desire
promiscuous paramour
deflects the indignation
condemns a last hope
seals the judgment just.
