He stepped away from commonly agreed
off the surface, fully satisfied, convinced
that he understood something of the real
content in his smugness, a moment belief
that he knew, where important pieces fit
his view of things correct, until back on
it seemed that all had changed, his role
disguise, costume no longer made sense
he felt out of place, not a part of the play.
