He swept the shore in search
of shells, wave spume strewn
sea broken or whole, cast up
curled colors, pearled calcium
carbonate dwellings, easily left
to correlate tides, rhythmic range
sorting through words assembled
collected and collated to classify
his thoughts, guided by moments
casual context, main marked year
likeness unfilled, until something
in his mind combed, became clear.
