Rattled by the raucous revelry
Dionysian fiestas in his head
he pled for order to be restored
to awaken the shining one of light
artistic sensibility to settle things
tame the music, discipline all
in precise measures, ascending
descending chordal variations
calm repose wrapped, preserved
dreams, to restrain urges
to wildly dance, bridle energy
bucking to be unleashed
yet containment was exhausting
he searched for reconciliation
a way to channel these forces
enclose them in still volatile words
free but complete, multi-faceted
meanings, to live safely in his head.
