Botany 101 helps to understand
the orchid flower, although
often guessing, find column
ovaries within base, stigma
anther cap on top, labellum petal
lip below, lateral sepal open legs
left and right, dorsal above
opposite basal exotic entry way
two other petals adorn each side
all conform to a basic design
but modified thousands of times
in elegance, colors and symmetry
splendor unknown, exquisite
divine invention but some odd
even uncomely like the lamb
that only a mother could love.
