He set out lonesome
this traveler with stars
Orion barely above
the southern horizon
until it was overhead
rejected for sensitivity
he went wandering alone
with dreams, burden of words
to reorder a life, learn
from trees, dense forests
alive in competition for light
diurnal migrations of survival
busy morning avenues
jolt and clang of cars, buses
people scurry to labor or attend
while others meditate on mist
lifting, parting from green
volcanos, curtains that reveal
the scene, oxygen merging
with clouds swelling of water
vapor to fall, refresh again.
