The thought of love, abstract yet pleasing
appearing to depart, turning back
not leaving, as ambivalent desires
are distant closeness, creating that illusion
or being part of it, in cadence, balanced
oppositions like a mind of luminous longings
set back upon a lonely path, sensing only
fragrance of jungle jasmine, alone in the dark.
