LANGUAGE

Language configures the mind to recognize
a world, organizes experience, species phylum
categories, mediums of projection, disrupts
presence, having found you, I cannot go on
without, to break the arctic cold, rooms have
portable upright coal burning furnaces, each
bed with a plump down filled warmer quilt
so this is where they work, while we enjoy
balmy pleasant, all year, near the equator
one thousand feet above sea shore levels
not far from where monkeys frolic, crocodiles
can bask, around the clock, along river banks
words move, orient , allow us to travel free
from all constraints, turn away or embrace
stand at a safe distance, source our thoughts
cut the incision that opens, displace bearings
cast us mental into, as code, calculate self
navigate deep waters, pulse of earnest tropes.
