Jungle swallowed the temple
jaguar lair, lizard runs, monkeys
sermonized, roots burrowed to
earth clinging core, convincing
moments grasped, bricks broken
separated, crumbled all caved
stumbled brinks, edges forced
green dreams, rubble down slid
pause to think, what might have
been, before some old foretold
warning, timely not heeded was.
