Granite base over flowing
river coursing cuts gorge
experience carves mind
wind leaves rock towers
bare, turning Condor wings
against Andean onslaught
buffeting higher to circle
with clouds, to oversee
the panorama stripped
new perspective without
convention, naked igneous
forged silicate, agate walls
calls us to remember birth
weary journey back to earth.
