FORM

Form shapes the content it contains
curves as it spreads in space
elongates with time, stretches the mind
transiting, transient ambiguous realms
from Plato’s purity, an essence of origins
distant from Aristotle’s emergence
defined as intrinsic, immanent
an informing principle that works
on the text of matter, to cause
its effect in the end, all involved
in ironic tensions, inner patterns
once unique then generic
wholeness as it corresponds
to an external world, organic workings
once manifest, yet indeterminate.
