Cold hostile foreign land
blank buildings sliced
by railroad tracks, those
cared for separated, hungry
calling out in sleep, lost
estranged across borders
split to shatter former bodies
not being among them
in search of reunion, still captive
in what no longer is his
alienation absorbed only in love.
