CYMBIDIUM

Rare Cymbidium early days
base of future hybrids, grows
tall, flowers spike upward
yellows in crimson, pastel pinks
spotted white, what lies beneath
its intoxicating, fragrant semblance
over flowing, the idea sealed within
its essence, among rough leaves
bulbs, lengthy cane, its roots
untangled in distant jungles
green carpeted hills, passing
dark pools of the sea blue, lost
from a profusion of indifference
into merchantís hybrid intensity
at Bouley Bay, off Cotil Point.
