BOOKSTALLS

Random rummaging among bookstalls
labors of thought, bound velum cracking
paste, faded enterprise ended here
leafed through, paper hard drive memory
burden of self probed, doubts persisting
eyes beseeching recognition, having fallen
into casual rows of metaphysical clatter
disturbing intimacy piled together, passing
into innocence of indifference, old diary
secrets now revealed, the dead have left
a trail, clues that resonate, a brain tormented
by chatter of multiple voices, sounds of day
mind manipulating propaganda, publicity
inane suggestions, declarations unfounded
statements, somebody’s fantasy, love letters
stacked, uncertainties sifted, shifted about
by curious customers of inquisitive notions.
