He delivered the remedy to the ill
in apprehension of devotion
fearís apostrophe of compromise
even commitment, in spite of all
antidote for emptiness, a pill
that dampens emotion
as flowers wither while dead
are dispatched from hospital beds
municipal holy crossing, sunset
through cemetery leaves and branches
or cast to outer darkness, extinguished
in a black hole, panacea for pain
piety aside, action formula for anxiety
of purpose, that calls the apothecary
pharmacist, to mix the emulsion
fix, the whole uncertain condition.
