ANCESTORS II (Dansk Bedstefar)

An old crow sat on a leafless branch
the hunter came with his gun: sim sala
bim boom, bones and black feathers
then wind blasted off the North Sea
shaking a cobblers shop, all was taken
leaving Copenhagen, glittering lights
of Tivoli, century before the atomís
description. A brother left behind
opened a haberdashery to sell shoes
and eloquent clothing, soon industry
raised a department store. Walking
the harbor quays, bright shops
blue, red and white to buy a gift
their signs swinging, a stiff breeze
as ships are piloted to and from the sea
with merit to go, beyond with me.
