Seeing you across the bay
I began to swim, reaching out
to hope, warm water
clear and invigorating.

Overhang green reach
tangled twine of limbs
and leaves, shield grass
from darkening wind
that shakes and moves
before first drops of rain
announce enormous waves
of water that arrive shortly
from nearly a distance.

Nothing yet from awaited
response, left with patience
held in the past, wanting
to let go, although no
rejection nor confirmation
of interest, reticent for
a moment, time´s token.

Woken by your call
taking me from a dream
to open a blank space
pause in continuance
as not getting there.
